Old Bridge stopped making non-Reserve wines in 2010, preferring to sell off the grapes not considered good enough for the winery’s signature Areni Reserve. The wine is fermented in steel tanks and aged in Caucasian oak barrels for 2 years.
Old Bridge makes one of the darkest and most tannic Areni wines. The 2013 has remarkable aromas and flavor intensity, a complex and powerful nose of dried black fruits, a range of various spices and honey, and a captivating smoky, meaty, gamy character with pronounced coffee, leather and black pepper. Its elegant palate with silky tannins, high acidity and exceptional balance and harmony leads to captivating medium long pleasant finish. Long sold out at the winery, we’re lucky to have the last remaining cases in the US.
This wine won a Gold Medal at the 2018 Decanter Magazine World Wine Awards.
This wine will work with almost all meat dishes, but we suggest opening your first bottle with a beautiful steak dinner!
